Noor Begum
For over four decades, Noor Begum's handloom has hummed with the rhythm of wood and wool in the historic alleys of Srinagar. Today, she leads a collective of 15 master weavers. Together, they preserve the near-lost art of Kani weaving—using tiny wooden needles to construct tapestry shawls so intricate that a single piece takes months of meticulous concentration to complete.

Gulshan Jan
Gulshan Jan founded the Gulshan Crafts Self-Help Group to empower rural women through artistic mastery. Under her guidance, the collective paints recycled paper pulp jewelry chests with natural minerals and squirrel-hair brushes, and hand-carves serving trays from seasoned local walnut wood blocks. Each piece brings the iconic Chinar leaf and Persian flora patterns to life.
